There’s no question that healthcare is undergoing the greatest change of a generation. The pandemic, the workforce, the consumers, the science, and the relentless sweep of the digital revolution.
This means leaders need the “courage to change” (as SIA wrote in her song). Michael Useem of Wharton, calls it “leadership plus.” Yes, society needs hospitals. And, yes, people need healthcare where they are – when they need it. We have to do both.
Rather than, “disruption,” it’s really “creative construction” based on radical collaboration, radical communication, and a radical focus on health disparities.
Recently Dr. Klasko told his story of re-imagining “leadership plus” at Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health in The European Business Review, with help from Mike Useem.
