Dr. Stephen Klasko Appointed to Fairleigh Dickinson University Board of Trustees

Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) recently appointed Dr. Stephen Klasko, MD, MBA, to its Board of Trustees for a three-year term.

This appointment further expands Dr. Klasko’s involvement with the university. Having worked closely with FDU President Michael Avaltroni on several projects in recent years, Dr. Klasko helped launch the Humanics Innovation Challenge at FDU in late 2025. The challenge, which integrates human and machine learning in healthcare, is funded by a seed gift from Dr. Klasko that will support a Humanics Hub on the Metropolitan Campus among other initiatives.

“We are honored to welcome Dr. Klasko to the board, and his extraordinary experiences and insights in advances in healthcare innovations will greatly benefit the University,” said FDU President Michael Avaltroni. “As FDU continues its emphasis on health science programs and preparing the healthcare workforce of the future, Dr. Klasko will help us stay at the forefront of transformations in the healthcare sector.”

In a statement on LinkedIn, Dr. Klasko says, “I am honored. And I absolutely believe Fairleigh Dickinson University is writing its future – and ours. The education we need as humanics and robotics team up. The healthcare we need as agentic humans and humanistic robots keep the human being in the center.”
